Over the course of my life, I have met so many people who, like myself, have seen faeries or spotted a mermaid or seen a leprechaun, etc., that I decided I really wanted to set up this page as a testimonial for all of you out there that may have experienced something special like this.
The magical realm is alive and well. I once met a woman named Dottie, who was a hypnotherapist in her late 60s when I met her nearly twenty years ago. She has since passed on, and I want to share this story with you as an example of what I mean as a testimonial.
When Dottie was seven years old, her mother had remarried to a very hard man. Her parents were in the living room and it was night time. Dottie was supposed to be asleep. She was pondering her future and how she was going to accept this man as her stepfather and was pretty depressed about the whole thing. She was lying in bed, staring up at the ceiling when she saw a light glowing just off the side of the bed. When she rolled over to see what it was, she saw a faery ball happening on the floor of her bedroom.
She said it was just like she'd seen in faery books. They were all elaborately dressed and there was a king and queen who were dancing in the center. They looked at her and placed their fingers to their lips. She shouldn't say anything, but she couldn't help giggling over the whole thing. In that instant, they disappeared, and her stepfather came into the room. "You're supposed to be asleep." he said.
She remembered him being very stern with her, even when she tried to explain what had happened. He didn't believe her and told her to go to bed. She heard him walk back down the hall and her mother asked what the matter was. He said Dottie was just dreaming.
She laid back down and the light returned. She rolled over to see that the ball had reappeared, and this time she stayed quiet. She said she watched them until she fell asleep. Their beauty and magic helped sustain her throughout the years of growing up, even though she never saw the faeries again.
I'm telling you this story not just because it's a beautiful testimonial, and hopefully Dottie is okay with me sharing all of this. I have a feeling she is. I'm sharing this because of what she asked me after its telling.
She asked me, "What is your definition of magic?"
I knew what she meant. She didn't mean the slight-of-hand tricks stage magicians do, not the magic of pulling a rabbit out of your hat - but real magic. I thought about it and quoted what I had learned from various authors. She shook her head and persisted. "What do you think it is?"  I thought about it and said, "I guess I think magic is when you can change how something comes out in your life despite the odds of it being otherwise."
She paused for a moment and said, "I think magic is its own reality. It's a reality like our world is a reality, but it hasn't been discovered yet."
Those faeries live in their own reality, their own world. And sometimes the worlds merge and that's when we see things. We haven't discovered their world yet, because we haven't gone looking for the key. Maybe one day everyone will see faeries and science will be imaginary.
So please send me your magical testimonials, by clicking here or going to my contact page and I will be happy to post them here, so those of us who have seen will know we are not alone; and those of us who haven't seen will know how to go looking.
